Introduction

Chapter I: Discoveries And Revelations

9

Two cards are turned face up in the deck. The deck is spread and the selected card is found between the face up cards.

10

A simple, self-working revelation of a card at a chosen number.

11

Card at any number, with the premise of preventing any bottom deals.

11

Attempting to feel cards for fingerprints, the chosen card is missed and laid on the table. When the magician feels the fingerprints he is presumed wrong, but the chosen card is not where they saw it placed.

12

Describes what we would commonly call the Classic Force.

13

A chosen card vanishes from the deck to be found in a box previously seen empty.

14

Six cards are placed on a wooden display stand. The audience picks one to attach a large clip. When the stand is turned the clip is seen to be on the previously chosen card.

16

Intended as a challenge to a difficult or demanding spectator. A card is chosen and replaced from a deck held behind the magicians back. Without moving the deck from behind, the magician names the chosen card.

18

Two chosen cards are found together after a spectator deals and cuts the deck.

18

Two cards selected and returned. The first turns face up in the pack. No other cards are seen face up, and the pack handed to a spectator who names their card and finds it face up in the middle.

20

A clear plastic box full of small cut-out indices of playing cards. The box is shaken and tipped on its side. All the indices will fall except for the chosen card, which remains stuck to the side.

20

A ribbon is stuck to an indifferent card with a circular sticker. This card is cut to the middle. When the ribbon is pulled up, it is now stuck to the chosen card.

21

My Clutch Slips

Reverso with No Breaks

A triumph style effect (chosen card reverses) with no shuffle.

23

A boxed deck is placed on the table. A card is randomly chosen from a second deck, which is found to be the one card missing from the boxed deck. The missing card is found in a hat on the table.

24

A deck of cards tossed to the wall, and the chosen card remains stuck with a thumb tack.

25

Four attempts to find a chosen card turn up four Jacks. They are placed between a spectator's hands and removed one by one. Surprisingly one card remains, which is the chosen card.

27

The Principle of Alternative Terminations

And Its Application When the Spectator Shuffles

Letting a spectator (riffle) shuffle the deck after a card is chosen and returned will result in one of three scenarios, and a hands-off effect is suggested for each outcome.
