A chick appears in an empty tumbler; corn meal is poured in to feed it; both vanish and are replaced by an egg that pours out chicken feed when broken.

Starke's presentation tip — turn the head away while writing with the thumbnail writer, so the resulting scrawl appears to be automatic handwriting produced in full view.

When a trick fails, a blown egg is produced and broken, releasing a silk reading "BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME" — turning the disaster into a comedy bow.

A single newspaper sheet is folded, creased, and torn in a precise pattern; when opened out, it forms one continuous band large enough to encircle a room.
