Audiences had no clue that Stephen Fnsbie was deaf when he appeared on nightclub stages from New York to San Francisco in the 1930s and 40s. Known by the stage name Miaco and billed as "The Prince of Magic," he worked such famous venues of the Roxy Theater and the Rainbow Room in New York City with a manipulation act that featured cards, handkerchiefs, salt, cigarettes, and a rabbit production for the finale.
