James “The Amazing” Randi (1928 - 2020) was a Canadian-American magician, escape artist, and skeptic best known for exposing frauds who claimed to have paranormal or supernatural abilities. Using his skills in magic and critical thinking, Randi challenged psychics, faith healers, and pseudoscientific claims, famously debunking figures such as Uri Geller. He founded the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) and offered a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who could demonstrate supernatural powers under controlled scientific conditions. Randi became a leading voice for skepticism, science, and rational inquiry.
