Development Update - February 2026

New Features

Two new features which are meant to mimic and support my natural research habits which existed before this project.

The pictures! They're... MOVING!

So, I read a trick in a book, and if it catches my interest I usually hop over to YouTube and see if I can find a performance video. It immediatly lets me evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the routine. This makes for a natural addition to the library records; videos!

Now you can attach YouTube videos to books, individual items, and even people. (whichever is most relevant to the video) Videos can be classified as Performance, Reviews, Interviews, or Trailers (Promos)

Once the number of video attachments grows I'll look into ways to browse the library by watching the collection of performance videos to find something new.

Remember that one for later

I have many books which have little pencil marks - hopefully pencil marks - on the Table of Contents. Often stars, or checks, which I always took to mean "this is one worth remembering." It's a natural way to help sort out the good stuff, and I'm pleased to announce you can now add those same little stars to the virtual table of contents on books.

Your Starred Items will be saved into a Collection, and also remain marked the next time you visit the table of contents for a book.

Otherwise, since my last update I've been trying to fix problems as they arise. Most of it's not worth remarking upon, but here's a few things which are mildly interesting.

Small Changes

  • Bulk editing feature for contents, allowing you to select multiple items to mark them all as a "trick" for example. Time-saver!
  • Enter personal collection info when adding New Titles. (your acquisition date, price paid, and notes)
  • Add Trusted Users who bypass the pending approval phase on new submissions. This is determined arbitrarily, based on a history of quality entries for that user.
